Columbia Police Investigate Commercial Robbery

Columbia Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Hobby Lobby store, located at 2001 West Worley Street, in Columbia, at approximately 6:45 p.m. on June 10, 2009.

Responding officers made contact with the victim, a 43 year female. She advised that she was approached by the suspect, who displayed a handgun, and made her go to the office area of the store with him. She was tied up in the office area. Shortly after the suspect left, she was able to call police. The suspect did steal money from the store.

There were customers in the store at the time. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit are actively working on this case, and ask anyone who might have seen the suspect to contact the police department. You do not have to give your name and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1500 if your information leads to an arrest.

The suspect is a white male, approximately 5’7”, 160 pounds, in his late 50’s. He was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and a ball cap. He has short hair and was clean shaven.
