(Parking lot of Dollar General)
SUSPECTS: The shots were believed to have been fired from someone in a group of
8-10 teenage black males.
VICTIM: 36 year old male
DETAILS OF INCIDENT: The incident started inside the Hong Kong Restaurant, also at 106 Business Loop 70 West. The victim does not know the suspects. The group of suspects began making fun of the victim due to the nature of the victim’s cell phone ring tone. The suspects left the restaurant before the victim. When the victim left the restaurant, he went to Dollar General.
When the victim left the Dollar General Store the suspects were on the parking lot. The suspects continued verbally harassing the victim. As the victim was getting into his car he exchanged some words with the suspects. While backing up, the victim heard more shouting from the suspects followed by 3 or 4 gunshots. The victim drove away quickly and called 911 when he was a safe distance away. Other calls were received reporting shots fired at that location.
Arriving officers found expended shell casings on the parking lot, consistent with the victim’s account of the incident. The victim was not injured and no evidence was found to indicate his car had been struck. More detailed descriptions of the suspects, or information on which individual fired the shots is not known.
